Frequently asked questions

Is Pulse free?

Yes. Pulse is free to download and use right now. It requires macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon.

Where is my data stored?

All of your data stays on your Mac. Pulse stores everything locally with SwiftData — there is no account, no cloud sync and no tracking.

Does Pulse work on a Mac without a notch?

Yes. On Macs without a physical notch, Pulse draws its own notch at the top center of the screen, so you get the same hover peek and progress bar.

What macOS version does Pulse require?

Pulse requires macOS 15 or later and runs on Apple Silicon Macs.

How long can the focus timer run?

The Pomodoro focus timer runs from 5 to 120 minutes. Use the scrubbable slider or the 15, 25, 45 and 60 minute presets. The countdown shows inside the notch and you can pause or resume from the hover peek.

Can I share my plan to Slack?

Yes. Copy-for-Slack copies your day's plan as markdown so you can paste it straight into Slack or any standup update.

How do I quit or uninstall Pulse?

Right-click the flame icon in the menu bar and choose Quit Pulse, or press ⌘Q while the planner is open. To uninstall, quit Pulse and move Pulse.app from Applications to the Trash — all data is stored locally on your Mac and is removed with the app.
